What can metamorphic rock change into and how does it cahnge??? Science

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

A metamorphic rock is made from igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, or other metamorphic rock. It is made by either compaction or cementation. Compaction is when layers of sediments pile over a rock and then squeeze together. Cementation is when the rock is held together by the sediments. Metamorphic rocks can be either foliated or non-foliated. Foliated rocks have layers, while non-foliated rocks don't. A rock that has been changed into a metamorphic rock is also called the parent rock. Similarly, a metamorphic rock can change back into a sedimentary rock by the opposite process.

Hope it helps :)

How many moles of sodium chloride are in 28 grams of NaCl? A.) .265 mole NaCl

B.) .856 mole NaCl

C.) .479 mole of NaCl

D.) 1.2 mole NaCl

Answers

Answer:

Option C. 0.479 mole of NaCl

Explanation:

First, we need to find the molar mass of NaCl.

MM of NaCl = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5g/mol

Mass of NaCl = 28g

Number of mole =?

Number of mole = Mass /Molar Mass

Number of mole = 28/58.5

Number of mole = 0.479mol

Answers

The correct answer to this question is that nucleaur fusion is the nuclear reaction in which energy is released by the combination of two elements, after which they become a new element. Nuclear fusion is the process through which two aroms are bonded, and therefore form a different, heavier nucleus.

Which reactants form the salt CaSO4(s) in a neutralization reaction? (1) H2S(g) and Ca(ClO4)2(s)
(2) H2SO3(aq) and Ca(NO3)2(aq)
(3) H2SO4(aq) and Ca(OH)2(aq)
(4) SO2(g) and CaO(s)

Answers

H₂SO₄(aq) and Ca(OH)₂(aq) form the salt CaSO₄(s) in a neutralization reaction. Therefore, option C is correct.

What is a neutralization reaction?

A neutralization reaction is a chemical process in which an acid and a base combine to produce salt and water as the end products. H⁺ ions and OH⁻ ions combine to generate water during a neutralization process.

The reaction between sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) and calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂) is an acid-base neutralization reaction that produces calcium sulfate (CaSO₄) and water (H₂O) as products. The balanced chemical equation for this reaction is:

H₂SO₄(aq) + Ca(OH)₂(aq) → CaSO₄(s) + 2H₂O(l)

In this reaction, sulfuric acid donates two protons to the hydroxide ions from calcium hydroxide, forming water molecules. The remaining ions (Ca²⁺ and SO₄²⁻) combine to form the solid product, calcium sulfate. Hence, option C is correct.

Epsom salts are hydrates of magnesium sulfate. the formula for epsom salt is mgso4·7h2o. if a 7.834 g sample is heated until constant mass is obtained, what is the mass of the anhydrous magnesium sulfate? what percent of the hydrate is water?

Answers

The mass of anhydrous magnesium sulfate is 0.647 g MgSO4. The mass percent of the hydrate is water 91.74 %.

What is mass?

Mass is defined as quantitative measure of inertia, a fundamental properties of all the matter.

It can also be defined amount of matter present in any object or body.

Mass percent is defined as a way of expressing a concentration or describing the component in a particular mixture.

Molar mass of MgSO4 = 127.38 g/mole

And molar mass of MgSO4.7H2O = 246.47 g/mole

Mass of anhydrous magnesium sulfate

= 7.834 / 246.47 x 20.37

= 0.647 g MgSO4

Mass of water = 7.834 - 0.647

                       = 7.19 g of water

Mass percent = 7.19 / 7.834 x 100

                       = 91.74 %

Thus, the mass of anhydrous magnesium sulfate is 0.647 g MgSO4. The mass percent of the hydrate is water 91.74 %.
